| First off, Thank you for your decision to choose Messie Jessie's Mobile Grooming. I promise to pamper your pet as much as I can!!! My name is Jess Elmore. I grew up and still live in Belton, MO. I am a mom of 2 beautiful children, and a few pets. After years of working in public service and management, I realized I needed a career change. I started professionally grooming in 2002, after bad experiences of taking my own pets to groomers. It was then I realized, it was my true profession. I have always been a huge lover of animals, and even when I was a kid, I used to take in the stray neighborhood pets and bath them and put bows in their hair. After much practice and studying, in 2004 I decided to take my certification testing to become accredited in the grooming industry. I wanted to advance as far up in the grooming profession as possible. I am now Nationally Certified in all breed groups through the NDGAA. (National Dog Groomers Association of America) www.nationaldoggroomers.com Becoming Nationally Certified was my personal goal. Unfortunately in the grooming industry there is no licensing or accreditation required. Anyone can pick up clippers and become a groomer. What I wanted to do is push my self to the highest field possible in grooming, and exceed in the industry. National Certification takes lots of dedication and knowledge. There are 3 breed groups to certify in, which total 7 different tests. There is the Non-sporting group, Sporting Group, and Terrier Group. Each group requires a practical exam and written exam of 200 questions (2 for the terrier group). A 75% or higher in each exam must be made to pass in that group. Once you pass all 7 tests, you can apply for your Masters Exam. You must receive an average score of 85% or higher on all 7 tests, and pass the Masters, to become A Master Certified Groomer. That is my next goal. I have passed my masters, and all breed groups, but my current average is 82%!!! I am almost there!! After years of working in assembly type salons, i decided I wanted to pamper all my clients. I wanted to provide a service that was convenient for pets and their owners.
